Image quality comparison of original SOPi (top row) and improved SOPi (bottom row). The oblique plane illumination (x′y′) view of same scanned region inside a thick mouse brain section is shown on left. 3D perspective view corresponding to the scanned region is displayed on the right. Improved SOPi provides substantial enhancement in image resolution and contrast in the sample. The scanned volume is ~ 400 µm × 400 µm × 160 µm (x′ × y′ × y).
