Visualization 1 shows the simulation results of the dispersion and movement of 300-nm particles in the static symmetric potential well without directional flow, especially with the well depths of 1 kBT (red), 3 kBT (blue), 5 kBT (green), 8 kBT (purple). In addition, the escape ratio and the half-lifetime (i.e. the time taken for half of particles to escape from the potential well) of the trapped particles are also shown in the video. It is obvious that the deeper trap depth can constraint the particle well, but the particles escape from the shallower well.
