Polarization entangled photon-pairs are generated and detected onboard a 3U CubeSat in low-Earth orbit. The measured entanglement correlation can violate Bell’s inequality with a CHSH parameter of 2.60 ± 0.06. These results demonstrate that quantum entanglement can be generated in space with minimal resources, paving the way for the development of space-based quantum networks for entanglement distribution.
